On Your Mark….Get Set….Go! That’s the typical order we here that in, right? On Your Mark- Everyone get in position; Get Set- Make your final preparations; Go- Begin the race. And then we take off running to the finish line with everything we’ve got.
I fear for many of us that we missed the “On Your Mark”, and the “get set”. We heard someone yell Go so we just took off running. So we push & we run & we try hard & we do everything we can to win a race, that we don’t exactly know where it ends, how to get there, or if we were really honest with ourselves, why we were running this race to begin with.
In Hebrews 12:1-2 it says this “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”
The finish line- Jesus.
How do we get there- Jesus.
Why are we running this race to begin with- Jesus.
